January 2025 in a nutshell
oh what a month! January you were so fun.
The month started with my much needed vacation, my family has been waiting for me to come back so we can all go together to Rasgetheemu. I also invited my friends, and best friend to come along so we made the most of the time. The Kanneli Jetty is known for its bountiful fishing opportunities but alas we came empty handed, despite my years of Stardew Valley fishing experience.
We visited Maanenfushi, a beautiful island with your usual clear blue waters, something we often take for granted. Tons of moodhu bashi was played (bashi but in moodhu, without a racket, played with a soft ball - pending patent as inventors of this fun individual sport unlike regular team bashi) and bouts of majaa eaten.
After my friends left, back home, we clebrated my baby sister's 17th birthday in a pink frenzy of bowties and balloons! There were so many barbecues, teas at neighbors houses, and games with cousins, lots and lots of joospetties drunk. Island life is so chill, part of me wishes we could have the amenities of a city at an island scale but that's a pipe dream.
We visited Sh. Feydhoo on a very quick day trip, just the family. It's a beautiful island full of the most vibrant blooms and a big goanbili tree at my disposal so I came back heart full of memmories, hands full of goanbili.
Coming back to work and the chaos of Male' is always such a drastic change but it's funny how everything is always so amped up here. I've been enjoying the last few weeks of living back home, spending time with my sisters and ofcourse, meeting up with my friends on the regular. How did I live four years without seeing them every other day? Unbelievable.
We played Viticulture, a game I realized I enjoyed a lot, went to watch Dhoadhi (hoepfully a review incoming soon), ate out tons, went to donate blood where they thought we were part of a blood camp cos we all went together!
Can't wait for February shenanigans.
